Preschool: A Reggio Emilia-Inspired & IB PYP Early Years Approach
Early childhood is a critical stage that lays the foundation for a child’s lifelong learning journey. Our preschool follows an IB PYP framework enhanced with a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, fostering a rich, inquiry-driven, and child-centered environment.
We prioritize identity, connectedness, well-being, and resilience, nurturing competent and capable children who take an active role in their learning. Throughout the year, children engage in four transdisciplinary units of inquiry, which provide real-life contexts for exploration and problem-solving.
These units support holistic development across all domains—cognitive, social, emotional, and physical—while encouraging children to make meaningful connections to the world around them.
A play-based learning approach is central to our philosophy, allowing children to explore, experiment, and develop essential skills through hands-on experiences. The environment is designed to be a “third teacher,” fostering creativity, curiosity, and self-expression through open-ended materials and provocations.
We also emphasize critical thinking, communication, and collaboration, ensuring that children develop inquiry skills that prepare them for future learning.
In addition, after-school activities begin at this level, offering diverse opportunities such as cooking, dance, art, and more, allowing children to explore their interests and further develop their creativity and confidence.
